Name:Alethea Capenos Alias: Martyr Age:28 Birthday:18 June Gender: Female Desired Position: Assistant to the school doctor, Professor of Military Science and Tactics Other Info of Note:
Family: -Father: Nikolos Capenos -Mother: Alexandria Capenos -Siblings: None
Appearance: Alethea Capenos stands 5’4” and is of average build, not overly skinny or heavily built. Her body is well toned from her time in the military, which she has painstakingly maintained since. Her deep olive-toned skin draws looks, which she is completely oblivious to, as she does not pay too much attention to “looking nice.” Al’s hair is naturally chestnut brown and glossy, and she has the hazel eyes common to a number of Mediterranean females.
Personality: Martyr is a naturally caring person, partly due to the nature of her powers, but mostly due to an innate interest in the well-being of the people around her. She is most happy when she sees her patients recover from their injuries, whether she has used her powers to assist their recovery or not. Equally bookish and outdoorsy, she can either be found reading medical or military journals or out in the glory of nature on her spare time, sometimes combining the two in… unusual fashions. Most famously, she once read The New England Journal of Medicine while skydiving with a group of soldiers from her unit. When dealing with others, she tends to be somewhat reserved at first; however, once she comes to consider someone a friend, she begins to show her quick wit with friendly sarcasm interjected at opportune moments. Likes: Healing others, the great outdoors, adrenaline Dislikes: Watching others suffer, being cooped up, traffic, unnecessary/stupid laws/rules/regulations
Powers: Martyr possesses the power to take the wounds of others upon her own body, curing her patient of their own wounds in the process. She is also gifted with a healing factor, though it still takes her time to regenerate significant wounds. For example, a gunshot wound to the chest on its own could take an hour or two to fully heal, but a multi-system trauma (numerous GSWs or being the victim of an explosion involving shrapnel) could take up to 2 days to fully recover from. Her body immediately focuses on the immediate danger, focusing on the location of individual bleeds before fully closing any wound first.
Other Abilities: While not having necessarily “superhuman” level strength, she is close to the peak of human physical potential through an intense training routine. She practices several martial arts that she learned over the course of her military career. She is an excellent shot by human standards, and achieved Expert status with every weapon the Army ever handed her.
History: Alethea Capenos was born 18 June to Alexandria and Nikolos Capenos in a quiet suburb on the outskirts of Albany, NY. Her childhood life was almost unnaturally uneventful. She was a state-ranked pitcher throughout high school, and graduated in the top 10 of her class, drawing numerous joint athletic/academic scholarships from top schools across the country. “Al,” as her friends called her, had other plans however. Deciding to delay college, she enlisted in the United States Army the next day and left for Basic training the following week at the rank of Specialist, only 18 years old. Her Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC went by smoothly, and she became PG by the second week (Platoon Guide) which is a type of junior leadership named by the Drill Sergeant to take control of the platoon when the DS is absent. This was notable, as PGs are not commonly named until the 6th week of Basic. From then on, she excelled throughout her Basic training. She graduated with honors, receiving official commendations from her commander for a record PT score and for earning the Soldier Leader of the Cycle award. She proceeded to Fort Sam Houston, Texas to train as a combat medic. Once she arrived at Fort Sam, she truly began to shine and finished her medic training after earning an almost unheard of meritorious promotion to Corporal. The next year went by smoothly, until the United States began its police action in conjunction with the UN to stop the genocide in the Sudan. Due to the US’s superior military might and tactics, plus their doctrine of only fighting with 3-1 odds, her unit made it through the better part of the campaign without sustaining any losses. However, during one of the culminating battles, a Humvee assigned to her platoon was struck with a rocket-propelled grenade. Three soldiers were riding inside. One was killed instantly and the other two were severely wounded. Her training kicking in automatically, Alethea rushed forward and began to treat the two casualties. One died immediately, though she reached the second and began to treat him. The patient was already near death when she arrived, however as she had been trained, she continued to try to save the second, a young private who she had become close to during the tour. Just as her efforts appeared to be for naught, the casualty’s wounds began to close miraculously! Inexplicably, as the young man’s wounds closed, matching wounds opened on Alethea’s body. Her battle buddies called in a medic from another company, confused at how she could possibly been wounded when she had been riding in an M113 armored track ambulance at the time of the attack. By the time she had been medevac’ed to the nearest field hospital, most of her wounds had enigmatically closed. The Army’s paperwork still listed her as wounded, showing the full extent of her wounds, earning her an honorable discharge from service. She spent the next 6 years working in various medical fields as a paramedic, an ER nurse, a hospice nurse… wherever she could experiment with her powers and try to help as many suffering people as she could. Shortly after deciding to leave the medical field, she received a visit in the middle of the night while out on a jog through a park in Philadelphia. It was probably a poor idea for a woman to be out running alone in the park at night, but she felt confident enough in her own abilities in self-defense that she never let “common sense” alter her routines. A mysterious woman approached her, appearing from the darkness like a wraith. A whirlwind of words and offers later, Alethea, now with the codename Martyr, found herself working at the Sodalitas academy. She assisted the school doctor and was named professor of Military Science and Tactics.

I'm glad to finally see the long-awaited Al arrive on the boards! It should be great having her around.
Approved.
(As a note to the other bio checkers, I gave my full permission before the bio was posted for Kari to be used as the person who brought Al to the school, so no worries there.)

Sounds good to me. Sorry it took me so long to get to this. It's nice to see the finished product after reading bits and pieces prior to submission.
